Free time to enjoy the city. At acording time you will receive your rental car (GPS, automatic, category K) at the hotel to begin your route of the “Renewal of Spain”: You have to drive to Oviedo (4 hours and 30 minutes). It is set on a series of hills at the foot of Naranco and noted for its beautiful streets, many of them pedestrian. Its monuments are a World Heritage Site and highlights including the Cathedral, one of the most important Gothic Asturias.

You have to drive to Covadonga, beginning of the reconquest and where you will have free time to visit the Sanctuary and the grotto with the statue of the Virgin.
In the afternoon an official guide will be waiting for visiting the city. Walking tour to see the historic center and visit the San Salvador Cathedral in Oviedo. It is a mainly Gothic-style cathedral. Also known as Sancta Ovetensis, referring to the quality and quantity of the relics it contains.

Today you have to get up early because you have to drive to León (1 hour 20 minutes) to visit the city, you have to be there at 09:45 am; We begin the visit of the city right in the center, in Plaza de Santo Domingo. Right here begins the old town, the ancient Roman military camp and Principalis Puerta. Visit the Museum of Leon tells the story of the city from its beginnings: prehistoric, Roman, medieval, Renaissance and modern.
After seeing the museum we will go to San Isidoro, passing the old Roman wall. Visit the church and there by small pedestrian streets we will see, without doubt, the jewel of Leon: the Cathedral of Santa María: windows, light, color in harmonious proportions.
After visiting the cathedral, we visit the Plaza Mayor, fun area in the heart of Barrio Wet, with its pubs and bars, an ideal place to take a wine and tapas tasting.
In the afternoon you have to drive to Burgos (1 hour 45 minutes). Arrival and accommodation at selected hotel.
In the afternoon walking tour with an official guide “History in Stone”: This route takes visitors to various monuments and historical streets. The visit includes the opportunity to discover the details and the iconography of the beautiful newly restored stone reredos of the Church of St. Nicholas. Also visit the Cathedral. The Burgos Cathedral is one of the finest monuments of Gothic art and has earned the title World Heritage Site (1984).

Drive to Valladolid (1 hour 25 minutes), where an official guide will be waiting for visiting the city. Walking tour to see the historic center and visit the Cathedral. Valladolid Cathedral, designed in the sixteenth century and designed by the architect Juan de Herrera, Herrera-style building with Baroque elements. Also known by the name of her title, Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption and episcopal see of the Archdiocese of Valladolid, this is a work in progress, mainly due to lack of resources and expenses incurred by the foundation of the temple, located in an area with a large gap in the field.
In the afternoon you have to drive to Salamanca (1 hour 30 minutes), where an official guide will be waiting for visiting the city. Salamanca is a university city per excellence, known in the world for this and for its artistic richness: Cathedrals, Palaces, Churches of various styles. In the afternoon we will make the city tour including the Plaza Mayor, Casa de las Conchas, the New Cathedral, the Old Cathedral and the University.
This completes the first phase of the reconquest.

Across the Douro River begins the second phase of the reconquest, on the border of the Tagus River. Drive to Ávila (1 hour 35 minutes), we recomended to visit Cathedral of Salvador, The wall, Monastery of St. Tomás and Santa Teresa convent.
In the afternoon you have to drive to Segovia (1 hour 5 minutes), where an official guide will be waiting for visiting the city. It was a very important military nucleus by the Romans times, proved with the magnificent Aqueduct. City chosen for some of the Castilla’s Kings as summer residence, preserves one of the most notable medieval entirety of Spain.

We will visit the Cathedral and the Sinagoga.

From here we begin the third phase of the reconquest. Drive to Navas de Tolosa-La Carolina (Jaén) (2 hours 40 minutes), to visit the monument to the battle of Navas de Tolosa. The Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa, Arab historians call the Battle of Al-Uqab, and known simply as “The Battle” in the chronicles of the time, took place on July 16, 1212 near the town Navas de Tolosa. The victory allowed to extend the Christian kingdoms of Castile mainly to the south of the Iberian peninsula, then dominated by Muslims. Before arriving at Navas de Tolosa, at 9 Km, in Santa Elena, you should visit the Museum of Navas de Tolosa to understand the importance of that battle.

Drive to Jaén (55 minutes), where an official guide will be waiting for visiting the city. Among its historical and artistic heritage included the Cathedral of the Assumption, the Castle, with its three castles, the Arab Baths and the iconic Monument to the Battle, located in the Plaza of Battles, which commemorates the Battle Las Navas de Tolosa and the Battle of Bailen, occurring both in the province of Jaén.

Here begins the final phase of the reconquest. You have to drive to Granada but will give a short detour to get to know some very nice villages with castles.
Your first stop will be Alcaudete (47 minutes from Jaén), where you can visit the central interpretation of the Order of Calatrava inside the Castle.
After you can stop at Alcalá la Real (28 minutes from Alcaudete), where you can visit the Fortaleza de la Mota.
You will stray a bit to go Illora (33 minutes from Alcalá la Real), where you can see his fortified castle known as “the right eye of Granada”.
Then you drive to Granada (45 minutes). Arrival and accommodation at Husa Anacapri Hotel 3*** or similar (option 1) or Hotel Carmen 4**** or similar (option 2).

Granada was the last city that was reconquered by Ferdinand and Isabella (Catholics Kings) to the Arabs. Once recaptured enjoy the Alhambra. Visit Alhambra and Generalife. Depending on the hotel you are staying, a bus will pick up you between 09:15 and 10:00 a.m.The Alhambra is one of the most visited monuments in the world. Its construction was begun by Mohammed Ibn Alhamar. The fortress or “Alcazaba” was built in first place, and afterwards, the Royal Palace and the highest part of the Alhambra. We shall visit the most important halls including the Patio de los Arrayanes (myrtle courtyard), the “Patio de los Leones” (lion courtyard), etc…
After the visit you have to drive to Madrid (4 hours 40 minutes).
