PRIVATE VISIT "THE CATHEDRAL"

Description: Also called The Discord Cathedral. She has the widest gothic nave in the world.

Originally projected with three naves, but thereafter they wanted to make a single nave, this provokes the suspension of the works and a discussion that lasted 50 years. The different styles (C. 11th 17th) preserve elements of the first romanesque building (Cloister, Charlemagne Tower).

To reach the main entrance you must go up a fantastic late 17th Century staircase. The main front is Baroque, while the cloister is from the 12th Century, the Campanile Tower from the 11th and the rest of the building from the 14th. The large trapezoidal cloister is delimited by the leaned Wall. Works of great beauty and value are preserved inside.
