THE ROMAN TOUR.

Meeting point: At 10:45 am hrs. at the Astorga’s Tourist Office, located at Glorieta Eduardo de Castro, num 5. (Except Mondays).
Description: The guided tour allows the visit of archaeological remains, as the “moat of the camp”.
In this excavation have been located the remains of the first settlement of the current city of Astorga. Around year 40 b.c. begins urban development building private and public buildings such as the “Thermal baths”.
The conservation status allows you to understand the whole operation of the thermal bath, hypocausts and rooms for both bath and massages.
“Plaza Mayor” occupies part of the space allocated for the Forum.
There are several excavations which have permit to discover its structure, having been located different enclosures.
Aedes Augusti or imperial cult Temple Augusteo and the legendary Ergastula can be highlighted.
Special mention needs to be done to the sewage developed in Arturica Augusta during the first Century.
The system has survived in such a good conservation that has allowed his commissioning of the current urban structure from the last third of this Century.
After we´ll visit the Roman Museum.
